形态描述
体修长，略侧扁。头长。吻尖。口端位，口裂大。上唇稍发达，下唇细狭，分两叶。颏及颊部有粘液腔。无须。眼较小。体裸露，仅肩带处具少数不规则的鳞片及纵行的臀鳞。背鳍刺粗壮，后缘具深锯齿，背鳍位置较后；胸鳍短。体背侧青灰色，有暗斑，腹部银白色。背、尾鳍青灰色，胸、腹、臀鳍末端橙红，背、尾鳍上具多数斑点
生物学
Inhabits plateau rivers at an altitude of above 3,600 meters. Due to its high altitude and peculiar ecological environment, the Yurlung Zangbo River is primarily fed by rain and snow-melt waters. This fish is well suited to a life in the clear and low temperature water of this river. Other fishes and aquatic insects constitute its main diet
